Teacherages are available in Nelson House to accommodate teachers in the community.

Teacherage Furnishings
• Dining Room: Table and 6 chairs

• Living Room: Chesterfield and Love Seat. Coffee Table, 2 End-tables, 2-Table Lamps & Floor Lamp, Entertainment Unit

• Master Bedroom: Queen Box Spring and Mattress, 2 Night Stands, 2 Table Lamps, 5 Chest of Drawers

• Bedroom: (2) Queen Box Spring and Mattress, 1 Night Stands, 1 Table Lamps, 5 Chest of Drawers

• Other: Washer and dryer

Teacherage Rental

The monthly rental rates, which cover all utilities, are as follows:
• 1-bedroom $450
• 2-bedrooms $500, and
• 3-bedrooms are $550.

Rent & Damage Deposit
Rent is automatically deducted from the employee’s pay cheque on a bi-weekly basis. The Nelson House Education Authority employee who is living in a NHEA dwelling is required to pay a damage deposit, which is equivalent to one month’s rent. The damage deposit covers damages and/or failure to leave one’s unit in a satisfactory manner prior to vacating.

Relocation Allowance
The NHEA can assist out of province teachers with a one-time relocation allowance of $1,000.
